General Notes: Died on the sea voyage to Australia. The "Wallace" ship's register records the death of Mary Ford on 22/11/1843 due to diarrhoea.

3. Caroline Ford was born on 21 Jan 1844 at Sea and died in 1917 in Jerilderie district at age 73.

General Notes: Death regno 9964. The "Wallace" ship register (available at Public Record Office Victoria, North Melbourne) records her birth on 22nd January 1844 under the name of Mary Ford, but the passenger list records Caroline Ford.

Caroline married James Pyle, son of William Pyle and Agnes, in 1860 in Wickliffe district. James was born in London and died in 1912 in Berrigan district.

General Notes: Death regno 7706. James Pyle built and ran the general store in Wickliffe in 1863. In 1879, the shop was taken over by his brother-in-law Robert Ford, and the Pyle family moved to the Riverina taking up land near Berrigan.

General Notes: Birth regno 8370. Took over the Wickliffe general store from James and Caroline Pyle in 1879. In 1912, his son William Haig Ford took over the shop, and Robert and his wife Mary bought a property between Lake Bolac and Woorndo which they called "Somerville". After Mary died in 1916, Robert said to his neighbour Tom Austin at "Eilya" that he should never have moved out of town to the property, at which suggestion Austin purchased the property at a bargain price and renamed it "Myuna".

• Birth: First white boy born in Lake Bolac, 1846. William Ford and Sarah Trew travelled to Port Fairy having heard of good prospects. After 1 year, they procured a bullock cart and provisions and set off. They had travelled at 6-7 miles per day for 80 miles when they arrived and settled at Lake Bolac. In 1846, their son Robert was born in a shepherd's hut - the first white boy born in the district.

Robert married Mary Somerville Haig, daughter of Charles Haig and Selina Miller, on 20 Feb 1874. Mary was born in 1856, died on 12 Dec 1916 in "Somerville" ("Myuna"), Lake Bolac, VIC, Australia at age 60, and was buried in 1916 in Wickliffe, VIC, Australia.

General Notes: Death regno 16929. The biography "William Ford and Coolgardie" by his daughter Kathleen Clemenson, published by Hesperian Press, is the story of his discovery with partner Arthur Bayley of Coolgardie 17th September 1892. After selling the Bayley's Reward mine in Coolgardie, Golden Willie rode his horse back to Victoria and gave his siblings 10,000 pounds each.

William married Alice Kate Corbett on 17 Jul 1902 in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Alice was born in 1865.

General Notes: After the death of her husband Thomas Ward, Mary Anne was left to bring up and support her 6 children. When her brother William ("Golden Willie") returned after discovering Coolgardie in 1892, he gave Mary Anne 10,000 pounds. Mary Anne purchased the Lake Bolac Hotel with this money, and ran the Hotel as the owner and publican, whilst her husband Louis did some of the cooking, but otherwise he looked after the publican's booth at local race meetings (he was secretary of the Lake Bolac Racing Club), and drove a butcher's van around the district.

Mary married Thomas Ward, son of Thomas Ward and Margaret Dixon, in 1868 in Wickliffe, Vic. Thomas was born in Wickliffe, Vic and died in 1887 in Lake Bolac, Vic. The cause of his death was Accident.
